Thanksgiving

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday with lots of company and activities. Joel drove in on Tuesday afternoon, and Jill and Nathan flew in late Tuesday night.

Wednesday was packed with fun. We woke up to cold rainy weather, but that didn't stop us from golfing. The teams were intact from our California golfing adventure and Nathan and I started out strong, Unfortunately, we couldn't keep up the pace and after a couple of great holes, Pat and Jill couldn't be stopped. By the time we finished 9 holes, we were too cold to keep playing. We still have another 9 to redeem ourselves next time.

That evening Joel and Damien joined us for an exciting Blazer game. Our seats were in the Lexus Club level with all you can eat food and drinks. The guys definitely got their money's worth trying everything. As usual, the Blazers got behind in the first half, but managed to pull off a win in the 4th quarter. Very Exciting!

Bill and Darla got in late Wednesday night. Thanksgiving day was quite relaxing. We had a great breakfast of quiche and bacon before just hanging out and enjoying each other's company.

Dinner was planned for about 4:30 so we had plenty of time to prepare dinner for 27. Fortunately, it was potluck style and I only had to host by providing drinks, bread, and pumpkin pie. Of course, there was way too much food and lots of leftovers (including the extra turkey I cooked). My whole family came, and all the Brown siblings except Scott, plus the Schmunks.

The rest of the weekend included attending the tree lighting in Pioneer Courthouse Square, going to church, playing games, and of course plenty of food.

It was sad to see everyone drive away at the same time Sunday morning. Really looking forward to having Jill and Joel back home again for Christmas.

Kahneeta Weekend

We took the doggies to Kahneeta for the weekend.

The girls love to ride in the
motorhome.

We took a look inside the tepees that are for rent. There's a firepit and picnic table in each tepee. One would definitely need an airbed, though. Who wants to sleep on cement?

There was no cell phone service in Kahneeta so we either had to hike uphill about a mile or drive about 5 miles. Realized this after the front desk told us we'd have to drive all the way either to Warm Springs or Madras. No... just out of the hole. Posted by Picasa
There was a nice grassy area near our spot to enjoy the sunshine. Made pizza for lunch, yum.
Golf.

Another trip down south

We had another great trip to visit Jill. Pat and I golfed with Jill and Nathan twice; Southern California PGA Champions Course and a course in Yucaipa. Both times we ended by playing speed golf for the last few holes in the dark. To make it interesting we played teams: Pat and Jill, Nathan and me. Each time we hit the ball our partner just hit, then added up our total scores to determine which team won the hole. It was close, but Nathan and I pulled it off both days.

Saturday we went to Huntington Beach with friends of Jill and Nathan. Loved the picture of Logan with his dad on the surfboard. Pat even tried surfing.

Of course, lots of food was eaten, money spent shopping, and a great time just visiting.

On Monday, I flew to Salt Lake City for work. In the evening, I took a drive up to the Brighton Ski area, it's only 15 miles from the hotel where I stay.
